- Odorless or slightly odorous.

- The sweetness in dilute solution is about 300-500 times that of sucrose.
- Easily soluble in water (1g/1.5ml), slightly soluble in ethanol (1g/50ml).

- Electroplating industry: Electroplating-grade sodium saccharin is mainly used in electroplating nickel as a brightener. Adding a small amount of sodium saccharin can improve the brightness and softness of electroplated nickel. The general usage is 0.1–0.3 grams per liter of potion
